ICT facilities within Carrickfergus College are second to none. Since 2007 we have invested nearly £100,000 both from the school budget and the specialist schools fund in new computer facilities for the benefit of all our students and staff. We now have 309 PCs throughout the school.
We have seven fully equipped and up to date computer suites, clusters of computers in many departments as well as new laptops for use by our growing sixth form. All classrooms now have an interactive whiteboard or a data projector. The latest upgrade in September 2008 was a complete refurbishment of our library computer facilities.
Most recently we have had a Video Conference facility set up in the College. We use this in the provision of a distance learning course with our Sixth form students as part of the Carrickfergus Learning Community (CLC). This allows the tutor, who is based off site to communiate with the students in the College.
