Students from Carrickfergus College recently took part in the first Erasmus Plus exchange as part of their new project entitled ‘Europe in Love.’
The project involves schools from Northern Ireland, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Spain and Finland, and students form all the schools will visit each other over the next two years. The first meeting was hosted by Liceo Giulio Perticari in Senigallia, and the students enjoyed visiting the cultural sites of the beautiful Marche region of Italy.
The project’s theme is based on the Ancient Greeks’ definition of six types of love, and pupils were involved in activities at the school exploring what this means in Europe today. The students stayed with families during the week, and enjoyed learning Italian, eating the amazing Italian food, and simple getting a taste of authentic Italian life.
The next meeting will be held in Spain in April, when are hosts will Patronato Juventud Obrera, our partner school in Valencia.
